American Football Week 18 2027

ScoresLive provides live NFL scores with the score for each quarter and any overtime, from the regular season in September through the playoffs to the Super Bowl in February. We cover all 32 teams across the AFC and NFC, with conference and division standings, team pages and player pages carrying the season numbers.

The NFL features 32 teams split into the AFC and NFC, each with four divisions. Teams play an 18-week regular season (17 games each) from September to January. The top seven teams from each conference qualify for the playoffs, a single-elimination knockout that culminates in the Super Bowl, where the AFC and NFC champions meet for the title.

The Super Bowl is the NFL championship game, played in early February between the champions of the AFC and the NFC. It is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world, famous for its halftime show and advertising as much as the football. The winning team is crowned NFL champion and receives the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

NFL betting in South Africa is available at sportsbooks licensed by provincial gambling boards. The most popular markets are the moneyline (which team wins), the point spread (margin of victory with a handicap), and the total points over/under. Player props and season-long outrights such as the Super Bowl winner are also widely offered. Hollywoodbets, Betway and Sportingbet all cover the NFL.

The point spread is a handicap applied to level the playing field between a favourite and an underdog. The favourite must win by more than the spread for a bet on them to succeed, while the underdog can lose by less than the spread (or win outright) for a bet on them to win. For example, a favourite at -6.5 must win by 7 or more points.

The over/under, or totals market, is a bet on the combined points scored by both teams in a game. The bookmaker sets a line, for example 47.5 points, and you bet whether the actual combined total will be over or under that figure. It is one of the most popular markets because it does not depend on which team wins.

Super Bowl outright markets are available all year round, with the longest prices typically offered before the season begins in September. As the season and then the playoffs progress, prices shorten for the contenders and lengthen for teams that fall out of contention. Backing a team early can secure a much bigger price than waiting until the playoffs.
